Partner Projects
In addition to our programs, we have several ongoing projects with community partners to find new, collaborative ways to get volunteers involved in our community!
City of Greater Sudbury Virtual Infrastructure Project
Volunteer Sudbury is a proud partner of the City of Greater Sudbury’s Virtual Infrastructure Project: a pilot program which is building Virtual Service Hubs in community settings. These spaces will provide people with access to the technology they need, and help them learn how to use devices so they can access virtual services, like online doctor's appointments and more. These virtual hubs help address barriers such as a lack of internet or devices and/or low digital literacy skills. The project supports marginalized populations including individuals and families living in subsidized housing and homeless individuals.
Volunteer Sudbury has played a key, ongoing role in the onboarding and training processes of volunteer Digital Literacy Assistants, the people on ground at these Virtual Service Hubs, providing training, guidance and education to those who need help.
If you're interested in signing up for this opportunity, visit the need on our database or reach out to our Program Coordinator at megan@volunteersudbury.com.
Newcomers Volunteering In the Community
On November 24 and 25 2021, our team partnered with Alicia Webber of YMCA Northeastern Ontario to offer virtual information sessions aimed at newcomers in the City of Greater Sudbury. These information sessions highlighted available services, the benefits of volunteering, and the steps to take in order to get involved!

Horizon Drive In Fundraiser
From June 12 - 13, 2021, in partnership with the Horizon Drive In, a Northern Ontario pop-up drive in theatre, our team volunteered at their showings to fundraise for our Youth Engagement Council!
Our Community Partners
We'd love to work with more organizations in our community to make a difference! Contact our Program Coordinator, Megan Karchie, to discuss opportunities for partnering with us!
