COVID-19 and Volunteering
Volunteer Sudbury / Bénévolat Sudbury in collaboration with United Way Centraide North East Ontario, Public Health Sudbury and Districts, and The City of Greater Sudbury are launching volunteer positions and a get help service which contributes to Volunteer Response for COVID-19 - to help the most vulnerable members of our community in the midst of a pandemic situation.
We understand that everyone is looking to find a way to make a difference during this time, and are looking to their volunteer resource centre for safe alternatives to previous volunteer engagements. Volunteer Sudbury / Bénévolat Sudbury is assisting in the application, screening, and training process for volunteers in various positions. Below, you will find information for if you are requesting a volunteers help, along with information on how to start the process of being that helping hand.

We invite you to connect with our project partner, United Way Centraide North East Ontario to request help in these areas. Are you a community member looking to make a difference during the pandemic?
Volunteers are the heart of our community, and can provide essential as well as meaningful help to citizens who need it. In the state of emergency regarding COVID-19 in our community, we are looking for individuals to assist in Virtual Volunteering, and Light Touch Volunteering.
Virtual Volunteering: is volunteering that can be performed without any physical contact, such as telephone outreach to individuals in our community, information dissemination, etc.
Light Touch Volunteering: is volunteering that is performed with minimal physical contact, such as grocery pick-up and delivery services.
The areas in which we are currently recruiting for include:

Grocery Pick-up and Delivery*
Prescription Pick-up and Delivery*

If you are interested in being a part of the COVID-19 Response in Greater Sudbury, we invite you to fill out the application which can be accessed by clicking any of the buttons below. You can submit your form electronically, or, via a fillable Word Document.
Once your information is sent via the GIVE HELP button via the button above, we will contact you within 48 hours with an application, and request supporting documents.
Please Note: All applicants are required to provide their Health Attestation, Resume/LinkedIn Profile, and a recent Criminal Record Check or Vulnerable Sector Check as a part of the screening process.

In order to support volunteers participating in the COVID-19 Response, whether with this initiative or informally in the community, we have developed, and shared from sector partner agencies, information to keep you safe while volunteering.
Please note that all volunteers should be following the recommendations issued by Public Health Sudbury and Districts, and the Ministry of Health while volunteering to ensure safety of others, and themselves.
