Independent Living and Volunteer Sudbury Community Information BBQ

SUDBURY, ON – On Saturday July 21st, 2018, Independent Living Sudbury Manitoulin and Volunteer Sudbury hosted a joint Information BBQ at Independent Living’s location. This Information BBQ welcomed everyone in the community to enjoy a free meal while learning about the programs and services Independent Living and Volunteer Sudbury offer. Over 140 plates of food were served, providing a lunch to community members while helping to spread awareness about the two non-profits.

The BBQ had information booths set up for visitors to interact with members of each organization and learn about their programs and services. It also featured a kids room with colouring, music, and face painting to entertain the families that visited.

Independent Living and Volunteer Sudbury received generous donations from multiple local businesses for the door prize including coupons from Peppi Panini, Taco Sol handmade handbag, and a giftcard from the Candy Store. Donations were also received to aid with the cost of the BBQ from Chris’s Independent Grocer, Wholesale Club, and Food Basics.

Independent Living Sudbury Manitoulin provides those with disabilities the tools to succeed and achieve independence in their lives. Their non-profit organization offers programs and activities that are available to the members, essentially to provide them with information, awareness and education. www.ilsm.ca
